    this happened in the U.S. over the past few years regarding image/likeness law. it used to be that after 50 years of being dead, a likeness of the dead guy became public domain. well, since the licensing world woke up and realized there’s a TON of money to be made, many states have past laws extending the 50 years to 100. we’re all a quick decision away from a legal poison pen letter.
